Coronavirus Update

Cancer52 is already a virtual organisation and has run under this business model for a number of years, only bringing people together to help empower our members, share information and allow for some hugely productive networking.

But under current circumstances we will reorganise all our meetings from face to face to virtual ones.

More importantly, we will share information about coronavirus for people with cancer with all our members via the usual means of a member e-bulletin.  Cancer52 is regularly joining teleconference calls with NHSE and other charities on the evolving situation and working with other cancer charities under the banner of One Cancer Voice to help ensure that there is an up to date flow of consistent information.

A FAQ for people with cancer under the One Cancer Voice signed off by NHS England is now available here.

55% of UK cancer deaths are from rare and less common cancers.

Despite this, these cancers remain severely under represented and

under-funded across all areas, including policy, services and research.

Cancer52 is an alliance of nearly 100 organisations working to address this inequality and improve outcomes for patients with these highly challenging diseases.

why are diagnosis and death stats so different?

We work on matters that impact on the

rare and less common cancer community.

These are our objectives:

Unify and empower our member organisations.
Use our unique structure to capture the patient voice of those with rare and less common cancers.
Take that voice on to those bodies and individuals who influence cancer policy, science, clinical outputs, services and treatment.
