Cancer52 has launched its latest State of the Nation Report at the Big Cancer52 Conversation in Manchester on Monday 16th March 2026.

In this State of Nation Report: No Cancer Too Rare, Cancer52 reviews policy developments since the 2024 General Election that will shape the next 10 years of cancer services. The report also reflects on what these developments mean for making rare and less common cancers a priority in national policy.

Included within the report:

  • The distinct and unmet needs in rare and less common cancers

  • Impact and priorities

  • Lord Darzi Review

  • 10 Year Health Plan for England: fit for the future

  • National Cancer Plan for England

  • Rare Cancers Act 2026

  • Life Sciences Sector Plan and Industrial Strategy

There are opportunities in the present and future to better meet patient needs and increase survival and quality of life for the thousands of patients diagnosed and living with rare and less common cancers. Being a priority in national cancer policy provides the platform to deliver change and drive improvements across the complexities of the health and social care system.
